Week11 CAI ZHIHANG

1. Summary

After reading these sections, I learned that images can be added to Wikipedia articles to make information clearer and more interesting. Editors must use images that are allowed under free licenses or are free to share legally. I also learned that free culture supports the idea of sharing knowledge, media, and creative work openly so more people can access and use them.

2. Interesting Points

I found it interesting that Wikipedia has strict rules about image copyright and licensing. Not every picture from the internet can be uploaded to an article. I also learned that free culture encourages collaboration and creativity because people can reuse and improve shared content. Another interesting point is that Wikimedia Commons stores many free images for Wikipedia users.

3. Questions or Discussion

One question I have is how editors check whether an image is truly free to use. I also wonder if some artists or photographers dislike free culture because others can reuse their work. Another discussion point is whether free culture helps spread knowledge more fairly around the world.
