 During this week, I started learning how to edit Wikipedia more directly instead of only reading articles. I created and used my sandbox to test edits before making changes on public pages. Most of my edits were simple, such as correcting formatting, translating short parts of articles, and adding small pieces of information.

At first, I thought Wikipedia editing would be very easy because the website looks simple when reading it. However, after actually trying to edit pages, I realized there are many rules about formatting, links, and references. Even small mistakes in templates or citations can affect how the page is displayed.

One thing I found interesting is that translation on Wikipedia is not just changing words from one language to another. Sometimes I had to think about whether the translated meaning still matched the original context. I also noticed that some terms are difficult to translate directly between English, Chinese, and Korean.

A question I still have is how experienced editors decide what kind of information is important enough to include in an article. Sometimes it is difficult to know where the boundary is between “useful detail” and “too much information.
