 1. Wikipedia Sandbox Feature

The Wikipedia Sandbox is a practice space where users can test editing before publishing real articles. I learned that many students and beginners use the Sandbox to practice formatting, references, and writing styles without damaging actual Wikipedia pages. This feature is interesting because it works like a “training room” inside Wikipedia. One thing I found unusual is that even experienced editors sometimes use the Sandbox to prepare large edits safely. However, I also think there is a limitation because new users may still feel confused about Wikipedia’s editing rules and technical codes. It could be useful if Wikipedia provided more beginner-friendly guidance inside the Sandbox itself.

2. How to Leave (and Read) a Wikipedia Talk Message

Wikipedia talk pages are used for communication between editors. I learned that users can leave messages to discuss article problems, ask questions, or suggest improvements. One interesting point is that communication on Wikipedia is expected to stay polite and collaborative even when editors disagree. I also discovered that signatures and timestamps are important because they help organize discussions clearly. A question I still have is how conflicts are solved when editors strongly disagree about information. It seems that discussion and consensus are important, but the process may still become complicated.

3. Understanding Wikipedia / Why Wikipedia

Wikipedia is a free online encyclopedia created by volunteers around the world. I learned that its main goal is to provide accessible knowledge for everyone. One new point for me was that Wikipedia values neutrality very strongly, meaning editors should avoid personal opinions. This makes Wikipedia different from blogs or social media platforms. At the same time, I think there are concerns about reliability because anyone can edit articles. Even though there are rules and editors checking information, incorrect content can still appear temporarily. This raises an important discussion about how online knowledge should be verified in the digital age.
